BATELEUR NATURE RESERVE & HIKING INDEMNITY

NATURE CONSERVATION

  • At Bateleur, the preservation of fauna, flora, and a peaceful atmosphere takes priority.

  • No animals may be hunted, killed, teased, fed, or disturbed in any way.

  • No plants, trees, shrubs, or flowers may be damaged, removed, or disturbed.

  • Pets are permitted only at management’s discretion.


GENERAL RULES

  • Fires may be made only in designated braai areas, may not be left unattended, and must be fully extinguished after use.

  • Pollution of any kind is NOT allowed.  

  • NO LOUD music or any other  noise is tolerated.

  • NO car radios may be used on the reserve.

  • A Spot Fine of R500, applies to each item and incident.

  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.


ROAD RULES:

  • The maximum speed is 20 km/h.

  • All drivers must have a valid driver’s license. 

  • Vehicles must stay on the roads; NO off-road driving allowed.


DISCLAIMER/ INDEMNIFICATION 

Bateleur Nature Reserve does not accept liability or responsibility whatsoever for injury, damage, or loss of any nature, whether arising from negligence or any other cause whatsoever which is suffered by any person who enters the premises and or uses any other amenities or facilities provided. Any person using the premises does so at their own risk and is advised to insure themselves for Acts of God, loss and injuries they may suffer and for claims against themselves. 


RELEASE 

Visitors, employees and or guests hereby waive, release and discharge any and all claims for damages for personal injury, property damages, death, equitable relief, or loss of use which may hereafter accrue as a result of its activity at the Bateleur Nature Reserve. Bateleur Nature Reserve cannot be held responsible for the poor maintenance of the Provincial gravel roads.
